Variations

  • Scaled-down versions of the characters (ぅ, ゥ) are used to create new sounds such as トゥ (tu).
  • う can also lengthen “~o” sounds.
  • ウ can make ヴ (vu), a which is a foreign sound typically using ブ (bu) instead.
